CanCham Macao Participates in GBA Discussion

CanCham Macao President Howard Stribbell was in Guangzhou recently for a lunch meeting with Francois Rivest, Canadian Executive Director of Global Affairs of Greater China and Rachael Bedlington, Consul General of the Consulate General of Canada – Guangzhou.
They discussed business in the current climate in Southern China and the Greater Bay Area, including Macau. Canada continues to be very supportive of the trade, cultural and diplomatic relationships within the GBA.

Former Canadian Ambassador Visits Shenzhen

CanCham President Howard Stribbell had the opportunity to join the CanCham PRD luncheon in Shenzhen with special guest speaker, the Honourable John McCallum. Mr McCallum is the former Canadian
Ambassador to China.

He shared his views on the current and future China-Canada relationships, the impact of the China-US trade war and the need for understanding on all sides. Mr McCallum said that while there are many uncertainties with the coming Canadian and US elections, he believes that the Canada-China relationship will improve.

Happy Birthday Canada!

The Canadian community in Macao celebrated Canada Day in style at The Countdown Hotel’s Wave Pool on Sunday, June 30th. More than 100 people attended the fun-filled event which included a delicious BBQ and all-day swimming.

Carl Breau, the CEO of Saimen, was the event’s Master of Ceremonies, while CanCham Macao President Howard Stribbell and Consul General Jeff Nankivell both addressed the crowd.

Many thanks to corporate partners Saimen, Manulife, The International School of Macao and Paradise Entertainment Ltd for their generous sponsorship of CanCham Macao’s Canada Day Celebration.
