Canadian Chambers of Commerce Sign Greater Bay Area Cooperation Pact

The Canadian Chambers of Commerce in Hong Kong, Macao and the Pearl River Delta signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the 5th Annual TransPacific Entrepreneurship Conference on December 3rd, 2018 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. 

With the Greater Bay Area poised to become one of the largest bay area economies in the world, the strategic partnership between the three Chambers will help Canadian businesses tap into an economy with a combined GDP of $1.5 trillion.

Tax Seminar for Canadian Expats

More than 20 people attended a tax seminar on Wednesday, November 28 at The International School of Macao.

Guest speaker Wayne Bewick from Trowbridge International provided helpful information about the latest tax rules and regulations for Canadians living and working in Macao.

The seminar was co-hosted by CanCham Macao and The International School of Macao.

 

Run of Hope Macau Celebrates 10th Anniversary

Cooler temperatures and wet weather didn’t dampen the spirits of participants at the annual Run of Hope on Sunday, November 25. About 350 people participated in the annual charity fundraiser. Proceeds will be donated to the Kiang Wu Cancer Department and the China Evangeline Fellowship Orphanage in Macao.

The Run of Hope is organized by the Four Seasons Hotel and supported by partners The International School of Macao and CanCham Macao. The event celebrated it’s 10th anniversary this year.

MIF Attracts Large Crowd

The annual Macao International Trade and Investment Fair held on Oct 18-20 at the Venetian Hotel was a well attended event. CanCham Macao’s booth was located in the Canada Pavilion this year which resulted in increased traffic and visibility for the Chamber.  Many thanks to the Macao and Canada Economic and Trade Association (MCETA) for hosting the Canada Pavilion.
